Supply Chain Programs

API offers three main types of supply chain programs: vendor-managed inventory programs (including ESP^SM), third-party logistics programs (3PL) and customized supply chain solutions programs.

Vendor-managed inventory programs, including ESP^SM
These are the most common programs that API offers. With vendor-managed inventory programs, API acts as a single supplier of hundreds or thousands of part numbers, managing all planning, procurement, quality assurance and delivery of product to customer sites. API’s managed supply services have recently expanded with the introduction of our ESP^SM system. ESP^SM manages inventory data and provides API customers with automated inventory management services, including automatic replenishment, real-time inventory and order tracking, and customized product usage reports.

Third-party logistics programs
Although these programs may often require all of API’s core competencies, the most common need among 3PL customers is to focus on the inventory management and order fulfillment portions of the supply chain, which usually includes the management of reverse logistics functions.

Customized supply chain solutions/API Solutions Group
API offers customized supply chain programs to customers who need to solve a specific supply chain management issue. API’s Solutions Group provides a thorough evaluation of the supply chain, then develops and implements a customized solution.
