API customers unaffected by devastating storm

Disaster preparation pays off

"On Tuesday February 5, 2008, devastating tornadoes hit Memphis, TN and the surrounding Mid-South region, taking lives and causing millions of dollars in property damage.  Through careful, advance contingency and disaster safety planning, Aerospace Products International, Inc. ("API") was well prepared for this event and operated flawlessly through the storm.  API thanks its Operations, Human Resources, and Compliance teams for their professional management of this test from Mother Nature."

“Through it all not a single API customer was affected” said Shawn DeCrow the director of operations. “We took the necessary precautions when the tornado hit a mile down the road and gathered everyone into the designated safe area”. Once the threat passed, the API team completed a total evaluation and put a plan into action. When package carriers advised there would be no scheduled pick-up that night, arrangements were made with the carriers to bring the packages to them.  “We dodged fallen trees and downed power lines, but our customer’s packages were safely on their way” said DeCrow.

Dr. Ahmed Metwalli, the President and CEO of API, was quoted as saying, “ Although I’m deeply saddened by the losses to the Memphis area, I’m extremely proud of our team and the actions they took to make sure our customers were unaffected”.
